IN THE COMPOSER’S OWN WORDS

Someone Comes By is about realizing that something sinister and evil that you didn’t realize was even there has become an integral part of your life. It is an intentionally simple composition that from its simplicity allows the words to take center stage. I composed the piece in 2003 as I felt our country moving in a dangerous direction. William Bronk must have felt the same when he composed the poem many years before that. You can find it in his excellent collection entitled Manifest: and furthermore.”
